If you are shy why is dating so hard?

If you are shy then dating is of course hard yes because dating involves talking to other people, sharing your feelings with them and hardest of all admitting that you like someone and then plucking up the courage to ask them out by telling them that you want to go on a date with them.

Therefore if you are shy then you might find it easier to use something like online dating, or if you are going to do real world dating with someone you've met that you like then you just have to summon up the courage to ask them out.
