Is a maze the same as a labyrinth?

Question asked by: mrquestion

Asked on: 06 Jan 2010

These days these are different things.

With a maze there is a real challenge as there are multiple possible routes and dead ends though usually only one way from start to finish.

In contrast however a labyrinth has a single path and no dead ends that winds through so getting from one end of a labyrinth to another is usually trivial whereas it can be a lot trickier with a maze.
