Is appearance important to a model?
Question asked by: knowitall
The answer to this question is definitely yes!
Modelling is one of the few professions where discrimination purely on the grounds of looks is not only accepted, but it is expected!
The look that you have is what modelling is all about - any ideas of personality or anything else is total rubbish. Whilst you might not find them attractive yourself, all models will have some sort of look that an agency is looking for based purely on their physical appearance.
This means that modelling is the most superficial industry that there is, and reduces people to what they look like rather than any qualities that they possess as an individual. As such it is likely that models will be replaced in time with aesthetically pleasing robots since no other qualities matter.
