Is expensive perfume worth the extra money?

This is an interesting question!
Smell and how good something smells is really up to you, so if you like a normal perfume that is not a luxury one as much as a known brand that costs a lot more then there is no reason.
The only reason to get a more expensive one is either if you like it much more than others, or for the status element whereby you can tell your friends that you are wearing a nice perfume by chanel or whatever!
