Is film production a competitive area to get into?
Question asked by: artiste

Yes film production is quite competitive.
With the explosion in cheap equipment and working in media in general being seen as a glamorous industry even when this might not be the case, there are loads of people out there now making, editing and producing their own films.
So this makes it quite a difficult world to get into and make a name for yourself.
You could try going through the standard routes of working for a major broadcaster but there are also many independent production companies out there which are always looking for new talent, so you could try applying to those for jobs too!
