Is hair gel and mousse bad for my hair?

I'm not aware of any evidence that these products are bad for your hair.
Like everything you should use it in moderation so if you for instance fill your hair with hair gel and overstyle it everyday then I guess that is not the best thing for the hair.
I don't see why particularly a hair care product like a hair mousse or a styling gel should have a bad effect on hair though unless you happen to be unlucky and have a reaction to a particular product.
