Is house price data in the UK free to access?

Question asked by: mrquestion

Asked on: 05 Jan 2010

It used to be the case that you had to pay for house price data and indeed you can buy it from the land registry.

However in the last few years a series of websites have started that have purchased this data from the crown and display it on their websites. Some of these charge but many are free and simply require, perhaps, that you become a member of that website in order to have access to the data.

An example of this sort of thing is Property Acumen website whereby you can view property data in their UK House Price Data list.
