Is internet dating safe?

This depends very much on you and who you are lucky enough or unlucky enough to meet.
As ever most people on dating sites are good people but like anything in life there is the occasional rogue.
Because it is not obvious who you are talking to immediately then you should ensure that you don't give away any personal information to someone ever.
At least until you are absolutely certain that you are sure who they are but if you decide to meet do it in a large group of people.
The dating site or agency that you join should have specific advice for you and give you specific tips on how to use their site safely.

Internet dating is perfectly safe, as long as you apply the same rules as you would do meeting someone for the first time in a pub or club, if you\'re sensible you wouldn\'t leave with someone you didn\'t know, and if you did, you would be sure to tell someone where you were going. Internet dating is the same, play by the rules don\'t give out personal details about yourself until you know them better, meet for the first few times in a public place, and better still, take a friend who can keep out of sight, until she\'s sure you\'re OK, but still make sure that people know where you\'re going.
