Is it ok for men to watch modelling TV shows?

I am sure that a lot of men watch modelling TV shows, though whether they watch them for the same reason as women I don't know.
That said most of my friends say that models on TV shows are actually quite ugly and not the sort of women that they would go for in real life as they tend to have that slightly odd look that seems to be good in the world of modelling but not in terms of natural beauty as perceived by men. So maybe most watch them as their girlfriends do or something like that!
