Is it OK to exaggerate on my CV?
Question asked by: mrquestion

Well there is a fine line between exaggeration and lying isn't there - the first is probably just about OK whilst the second is obviously wrong.
For instance you can talk up the role that you played in a project as long as you are factually accurate: for instance saying you led a team that did x,y,z whilst there was only one other team member is not lying but it could be said to be exaggerating as "leading a team" makes most people think of several people.
However saying you did your boss's job or achieve revenue of 5 million when in fact it was a few thousand would be wrong!
