Is It possible To make A Dwarf hamster Like You and not bite?

I would like a hamster for my birthday but dont know if a dwarf hamster is right, i have heard that they can be quite tempermental and bite a lot also do not like to be picked up is this true? Please let me know as sooon as possible! Thanx for any replys Soph

They require different care to normal hamsters and it is important to understand this.
