Is it safe not to wash your hair regularly?

If you look about on the internet you will see in quite a few places reports or stories of people who wash their hair very infrequently.
These are not usually horror stories and so many people believe that the hair can actually do a good job of keeping itself clean, some even use phrases such that the hair cleans itself after a while!
Whether this is true is up to you to find out but it seems safe to say that you don't need to clean you hair everyday at all and that some people actually probably clean their hair too often.
