Is it true that the more you have the more you want?

Question asked by: mrquestion

There is definitely an effect that is sometimes called keeping up with the joneses or the treadmill effect whereby the more people have the more they want, if other people have even more than them they will always want to achieve that and then move to the next level again if they do happen to achieve that.

The constant striving for more is certainly one human quality that has in part caused unhappiness for individuals but at the global level had led to some of the human species wonderful achievements over time.
