Joan's salary increased from £25 000 to £27 000. What percentage increase is this?
Question asked by: knowitall

25000 to 27000, what is the percentage increase.
Then let's work it out!
The answer is as follows: to go from 1 to 2 is an increase of 100%, right.
Knowing that, we know it will be a fairly small increase. So let's do the size of the increase divided by the original times 100 to get it, and we have 2/25 x 100, to get an increase of 8%.
