Kinetic energy

A car traveling at 50km/h skids a distance of 35m after its brakes lock. Estimate how far it will skid if its brakes lock when its initial speed is 100km/h.What happens to the car's kinetic energy as it comes to rest?

The first part: just look up the formula and apply.

With regard to the kinetic energy, it gets dissipated as other forms of energy, for instance sound and heat depending on how quickly the breaks are applied, through things like friction (heat energy) and audible sound too.
