Kitchen Sink Smell

Can you tell me how to get rid of the smell coming from my sink. I have my washing Machine waste connected to the sink and have been told this is the reason for the smell. Hope you can help, Thanks Dave

Very simple
step I : allow it dry off for few hours.
step II : ringe hot water
step III: sprinkle dry salt
