Linear algebra

can you explain briefly about properties of determinants???
Question asked by: xtraxx91

Asked on: 04 Feb 2011

The determinant is a key term you need to understand when you are studying matrix, plural matrices, in mathematics or possibly physics.

It performs a linear transformation on a matrix, for instance it might double its size for instance.

For more information on the basic properties of determinants then you could look at a maths resource or something like this page on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Determinant#Basic_properties
