Mars is closest to the earth when it is in?

Question asked by: doggy d

Asked on: 13 Jan 2011

Mars is closest to the earth at the time where the orbits of the two planets bring them closest together.

This occurs periodically when the elliptical cycles of the two planets and the planar movement brings them in line.
