My camera has broken can I repair it?

That is impossible to answer without knowing what has happened.
If the camera is still under some sort of guarantee or warranty then of course it is definitely worth contacting the manufacturer and sending off for repair.
Otherwise unless it is particularly expensive equipment many find it actually more costly to get it reparied than to buy a new one, particularly with prices being a lot lower now than in the past.
