What is an environmental lapse rate?
It is the actual decrease in temperature with an increase in altitude through the troposphere.
Various factors affect this such as wind currents and directions, factors on earth such as where you are as in above an ocean, desert and so on, amount of water vapour around, solar activity and more besides.
