Name the great mathematicians who forgot their trades and indulged in geometry to solve the riddles of ancient time

Question asked by: appuswathi

Great mathematicians, well there are many of those.

I suppose the famous early ones are those like Pythagoras and those from the Pythagorean school.

And of course you have Euclid as well who worked out many principles of geometry that still apply today.

There was said to be a lapse in knowledge from the ancient Greeks for many centuries in the so-called dark ages.

Great mathematicians after then are people like Newton and then as time moves on from there it explodes into a huge number of great and famous mathematicians.
