Need help with math exam question

Using what you know about prime factors, explain why 24 x 54 is a square number. Thanks in advance. :)

24 x 54 is 1296. This is a square number because 36 x 36 is 1296, to find out if a number is a square or not just press the square root button on the calculator and see if the result is an integer or not, if so then it is indeed a square number.

That's all there is to it!

I put that as the answer, and my math teacher marked it, and said it was wrong, thanks for the try though.
