Our small garden pond is frequented by ducks: will they do any harm to the fish?

Well the ducks may try to eat the fish and in which case yes it would harm them!

They may also spread other problems for instance duckweed in other places where they swim can be carried on their backs and in this manner spread from place to place and pond to pond.

Therefore if possible try to keep the ducks out as you don't know what they might be carrying.
