42metres are the length of the diagonals of the square. So we need to find out this relates to the width (or the height, they are the same in a square of course) and then multiply this by four.
So we know that x2 + y2 = z2
Since the width = the height here, this means that 2x2 = 1764, so x2 = 882. Therefore we multiply the root of this by four to get the perimeter, which is 118.8m
