Picure rail

I am wanting to put a picture rail up but and am using a spirit level to go around the room but when I get to the end the ends do not match up which is the best way to make sure that a picture rail meets at the end

Put pencil marks at each end using the spirit level, then simply hold a piece of string or a tape measure from one end to the other. If necessary adjust the pencil marks so that the piece of string does remain at the correct level all the way around.
