Please tell me about the chroming process?

Chroming has many steps.
First of all, the item to be chromed is buffed to ensure that imperfections do not show through after chroming has occurred.
Next the item is dipped in a mild acid to clean the surface and remove any grease and so on from the surface.
Then it is dipped in nickel. Next the chroming is done using electrolysis.
