Removing black shoe polish from a cream suede sofa

I got some black shoe polish on my sofa which is cream suede. I have tried removing it by dabbing it with warm water and a cloth but nothing is happening! Any suggestions?

Try using a mild washing up liquid to see if this helps to dissolve the polish and shift the stain. But first test on a part of the sofa round the back where it won't be seen and leave to dry just to check it doesn't discolour the sofa first... if in any doubt before trying check with the manufacturer what product they recommend.
