Should a man wear a suit?

There are lots of occasions where it is a good idea for a man to wear a suit.
For instance, at a formal occasion such as an interview then even with the world becoming more casual it is still a good idea to wear a suit including a tie.
For work as well wearing a suit is a good idea, or for some occasion where it is expected to wear a suit too.
