How to simplify 8x-4x and yxyxy and 4x+3y-2x+5y

i really need the right answer coz i dont wanna fail my maths exam

8x - 4x is 4x.

All you have to do is to remember that you can add and subtract and multiply x's just in the common sense way, think of apples.

If you have 8 apples and you eat 4 apples, then you have 4 apples left - the x could stand for apples.
