The bigger the network the better: true or false?

This is not necessarily true because of the old debate that comes down to quality versus quantity.
Now the more people that you have in your network I suppose you could argue the more quality people you are going to have on average, though this isn't necessarily the truth.
Someone once said that if you have a network of over 1,000 contacts then you should have no problem earning over £100,000 a year though I'm not entirely sure that that follows!
