The least positive number to be subtracted from 34826 to make it a perfect square is

The answer is that the next perfect square is 34596.

So just work out the difference between them to see what you need to subtract.

There are loads of lists of perfect squares online, so if you only know 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49 but want to know them all then look up the lists of online perfect squares.

At first you have to try to determine the square root of 34826. The remainder will be 230. Hence, you have to subtract at least 230 from 34826 to get a perfect square. Here, it is 34826-230=34596.
