There\'s this guy i\'ve known for almost 8 years. We both have been really close friends and we both love eachother but in some ways it doesn\'t seem like he does, like he doesn\'t show that he actually loves me?

Couple of answers here.
It could be that he is just being a guy and thinks it is a bit soppy to show his real feelings but really he does like you a lot.
The other option is that he doesn't actually like you as much as he used to and is either waiting around to see what happens or is playing a little with your emotions.
Best thing to do is ask him out direct and go out with him if he accepts and see how it goes then - and take guessing out the equation by seeing how you actually get on for real.
