Transition element
Question asked by: psahu63

Copper is a transition element but zinc is not.
Transition elements are defined as having these properties: an incomplete inner (d) electron shell; they have multiple valencies and form coloured compounds and stable complex ions.
Copper fits that bill whilst zinc does not, therefore it is not a transition element whilst copper is.
