Was Dido known before that Eminem song?

This is a very rare case of an artist becoming known for a song after it was sampled by someone else rather than before!
Dido had been around but no one had taken note of her talents until that sample was used on Stan from Thank you.
This launched her career as it's a great track and worked really well on the Stan song and shot her to fame as a result of that.
