Oh dear that doesn't sound good.
The most common cause of horrible smells to do with washing machines is soapy water having got stuck somewhere or damp in general rather than anything to do with the insides.
Therefore you might want to switch off the water first then ensure that the water delivery tube is emptied and cleaned thoroughly then re-connect it and put the water back on once its all back in place of course and see if that fixes things... soapy water that stands has an incredibly horrible smell!
