What are the characteristics of algae?
Question asked by: knowitall
Algae is a plant that floats free on water as a rule.
Characteristically, algae require a high pH to live in and thrive, coupled with good levels of nitrogen.
They contain chlorophyll and hence photosynthesise to produce their own energy and hence are in that sense self sufficient, being a plant.
