What are the possible misuses of information made free?
Question asked by: mrquestion

All information out there has the potential for misuse which of course is the problem with making it all freely available.
As a classic example, take all these websites these days that let you find out about people by typing in their name then searching for the person you want, or searcing electoral registers, looking at people on facebook and the other social networks: you can use this to find out all sorts about people and not just to be nosey, either: if you find someone who posts on their twitter update that they are off on holiday for two weeks and you are a burglar, then you know just where to go!
