What are the types of base that is used in the laboratory?

Acidic, neutral and basic are the three types of base that are available in the labatory and can be used, basically due to the amount of protons in solution, that is H+ is what makes things acidic whilst it is the OH-, hydroxide, for alkalis; whilst of course neutral is in the middle.
