What can you do to remove white mark from hot iron on a wood varnished coffee table?

Hmm - sounds like this burn mark could be pretty much impossible to get rid of without risking ruining the material permanently.
It may be that the only viable approach is to cover it with suitably placed coasters or a table mat / magazine and so forth.
