What causes travel sickness?

Travel sickness has long been a mystery.
Some people are prone to it and others aren't that much we know for sure!
Theories abound and one of the most popular is that it is something to do with ions becoming charged and this having an affect on the body.
Whatever the reason some mints can help settle the stomach as can fresh air and some refreshing smells like for instance lemon.
There are also pills you can take to help you cope with travel sickness.
Whether we will ever get to the bottom line of what exactly causes travel sickness is not yet clear!
