What decides whether a model becomes famous or not?

Whether a model makes it into the mainstream or not relies on a lot of factor.
The biggest one of all is luck: being in the right place and time to get scouted in many cases, as most of the most successful models are those that get scouted by a major agency whilst going about their business.
Then there is how professional and confident they are, and having a personality that is considered interesting also helps get the first few jobs.
Once there is a high profile job if well received then the career can really snowball; having a really distinctive and edgy look can often be the key.
