What did earth used to be like in the past?
Question asked by: mrquestion

Earth in the past used to be quite like it is now, however the climate was different and so were the species that lived on it.
It was quite like now in terms of size, since it would have to be quite stable for life to have evolved so there can't have been any too major impacts since life began.
However the temperature has gone up and down, levels of gases like oxygen have gone up and down, and then the amount of water stored in the oceans or in the atmosphere has changed a lot.
The actual land mass too has changed a lot and has been all one supercontinent in the past actually!
