What did William Shakespeare write?

Question asked by: mrquestion

Asked on: 05 Jan 2010

William Shakespeare is famous for two things: plays and sonnets.

He wrote histories, comedies, tragedies and romances and his plays have been held up to critical acclaim for centuries and become classics.

The total sales of his work and derived works such as films and so on based on his books however loosely have surely made a fortune and he is one of the most famous Englishmen of all time, certainly when tourists come to the UK many go to Stratford to see where Shakespeare is from. Ironically for someone who wrote so much very little is really known about his personal life and what he got up to, there is even controversy over exactly what he looked like.
