What does noise mean in digital photos?
Asked on: 14 Aug 2009
Noise refers to the phenomenon whereby there are speckles of other colour in a shot where there should not be.
Thus if the sky is perfectly blue in a digital camera shot, you might get noise in the form of pink or red speckles and dots in areas of the sky where that should not be the case. Using noise reduction can help to get rid of this.
