What form of cell division produces haploid cells?
Question asked by: knowitall

The type of cell division that produces haploid cells is a special type of cell division that is known as meoisis.
This is because haploid cells, used by animals that reproduce sexually, only have one set of chromosomes, which then come together when fusion occurs.
Most cells in humans are of course produced in contrast by mitosis.
