What happens at death?
Question asked by: Curious

No-one knows for sure.
In the old days as in a century ago and before when the vast majority of people in the West were religious then you would get a very different answer to today.
Today most people would say we are human animals and as animals when we die that is it - we are only physical entities.
However in the old days, people would have said that the body and the spiritual are two different things and that as well as a material body we have an immaterial soul which is eternal and which goes to heaven after we die, or at least continues to exist in some sense. Now it is a matter of faith.
