What is a blockword?

A blockword is a type of crossword puzzle.
However in this puzzle you don't have the clues placed outside the grid as you would with a normal crossword puzzle.
Instead you have the clues actually placed in small squares in the grid and then there is an arrow that points in the direction that the answer word for that clue must go.
