What is a frequency?
Question asked by: knowitall

The word frequency has a simple and precise definitions.
It is the measurement of the number of times an event is repeated during a set time period. Thus if in a minute a car goes up and down the road ten times, then the frequency is ten times a minute.
Frequency is often used to measure things such as radio waves, and hence you tune the radio to a certain frequency of wave, which here measures the number of cycles per second, e.g. wave oscillations.
