What is a gesture?

A gesture is something that is done by one individual for another.
Normally a gesture is to symbolise something - for instance good will, gesture or friendship.
Thus if you owe the bank £20 fee but they waive it, this would be considered a gesture of goodwill on their behalf.
For more information and a dictionary definition might I suggest you go to dictionary.com and type in gesture, or alternatively if you prefer go to google and type define:gesture for an exact set of definitions with regard to the word gesture.
