What is a skeleton crossword?
Question asked by: mrquestion

A skeleton crossword is one in which the grid is literally empty, apart from perhaps a couple of numbers and maybe one answer.
The idea of the skeleton crossword is that you need to construct the grid itself - usually with the help of symmetry and therefore work out the answers and the grid pattern.
Skeleton crosswords can be quite tricky and on occasion because of the relative openness of the puzzle they can have multiple solutions.
